Senior Staff

Site Coordinator
Each site has a full-time Site Coordinator who works year-round in the Stamford, CT, SIG office. This person coordinates all aspects of the pre-program planning and is available to speak with parents and students who have specific questions about a particular site. Site Coordinators visit the sites during the summer, but are not in full-time residence.

Site Director
A Site Director leads each session. Site Directors are experienced educators who work full-time for SIG in the summer. During the academic year, they have various teaching and administrative positions in a variety of educational settings.

Academic, Residential Life, and Student Activities Deans
Each site has an Academic Dean, a Residential Dean, and a Student Activities Dean who oversee the total SIG program. The Academic Dean supervises the courses, faculty, and teaching assistants and makes student schedule adjustments, ensuring the high standards expected at SIG. The Residential Dean oversees all aspects of residential life, including easing students into dormitory life and supervising housemasters, resident assistants, and counselors. The Student Activities Dean oversees activities beyond the academic day, including evening programs, Saturday Get-Away trips, and special events such as dances.

These Deans work for SIG in the summer. During the academic year they are experienced administrators and teachers at schools and colleges around the country. Many of them work in the field of gifted education and have worked in our programs previously as housemasters, counselors, and faculty. The Deans live on campus during the three-week session.

Residential Staff

Housemasters
The Housemasters on each SIG campus are experienced educators and administrators who teach courses at SIG as well as supervise a residential house.

Resident Assistants and Counselors
Resident Assistants and Counselors are upper-level undergraduate students who have extensive experience working with children. During the academic year, SIG Counselors and RAs attend some of the leading colleges and universities in the country.

Academic Staff

Faculty
The SIG faculty is composed of dedicated professionals from many fields. These fields include college and university professors, educators of the gifted, professional practitioners, and experts from specific fields, all of whom provide the best academic experience for each SIG student. SIG faculty members are supported by Teaching Assistants in the classroom.
